So why Lake Windermere?
Given the choice, we love to sail on Windermere. Here's why...
Its non-tidal waters give unrestricted sailing 'windows', ideal for family or corporate days, so we can sail at times to suit you.
Since the Speed Ban came into force on the lake, it's become much more of a sailor's paradise.
It's simply beautiful, there's nothing quite like the first glimpse of the Langdale Pikes appearing beyond Claiffe Heights as you sail north. Unlike some coastal locations, Windermere has no built-up heavy industry on the horizon or busy shipping lanes to negotiate.
The lake is surrounded by some of the best loved restaurants and hotels (many with comprehensive conferencing facilities and jetties onto the lake).
We're a 20 minute drive from the M6 with a rail link from the west coast main line to Windermere.
We'll resist the temptation to quote Wordsworth, but leave you with our considered opinion that Windermere is one the finest sailing locations there is (and we've been around a bit!)
