Who we are
Come sailing with us and you’ll find that we’re a very friendly, approachable bunch. Bob is the original founder of Outrun Sailing, who has earned as much respect on Lake Windermere as he did in his previous career as an Anaesthetist.
And then there's Craig. As 'The Footballer' of Outrun, Craig is one of those inspirational characters who's spent the last 16 years fulfilling a boyhood dream. Since his recent retirement from the beautiful game, Craig has redirected his passion and enthusiasm into sailing - expect it to rub off onto all who sail with him.
There's also a growing band of Skippers within Outrun Sailing who have all successfully survived Bob's informal 'grilling'. Recruited for their personality and unquestionable sailing skills, it goes without saying that all share the same enthusiasm for sailing with many years' experience and more RYA qualifications than you can shake a stick at!
Skippers
There's more to Outrun than just Bob and Craig. These days they've been joined by Chris, James, Ian, Elaine, Richard and Johnnie to name some of the hand-picked like-minded skippers that also accompany Outrun Sailing's ventures onto the lake.
And then there's Amanda (Outrun's best kept secret) the former Banker, wife of Bob and ace Chef. She's the one who helps keep everything shipshape at HQ, with some expert help from Dee (first mate). If you're ever offered home-baking when you're out sailing with us, always accept (especially the Chocolate Brownie) - it will be yet another of Amanda's masterpieces fresh from the oven!
